About Us

out of the blue is an exciting vocal group that has emerged from the Sydney Vocal Arts Centre.

There are 20 kids in the group, all of whom are outstanding performers. Many of the kids have been performing professionally for several years and have been hand picked for their vocal skills, stage performance abilities and professionalism beyond their years.

Since the group began they have performed at many corporate and community events, delighting audiences with their beautiful four-part harmonies, matched with outstanding charisma.
Their youthful appeal always keeps the audience entranced

out of the blue have performed at the highly prestigious Barnardos 'Mother of the Year Awards', the Oration event at the International College of Management Sydney in front of Dick Smith and Peter Cosgrove, the Price Waterhouse Coopers Executive Christmas Party, the Royal Motor Yacht Club Newport Christmas Party and the Italian National Day Celebration in Pyrmont, attended by the Premier. They have performed at Mayoral functions for Manly Council, the Manly Arts Festival and the Manly Anzac Day Ceremony from 2008 to 2010.

The children make a real impact on the stage, as they aren't your usual 'children's choir'. They don’t wear choir robes, or boring black and white. They wear funky outfits which highlight their exuberance of youth! Many times, their beautiful vocals have reduced audience members to tears.

The Sydney Vocal Art Centre is owned and operated by Margi Coen, who founded out of the blue.
“Many of these kids have come through my singing school, and showed enormous potential. I hand picked them and feel blessed to have such talent to work with” Ms Coen said.
